We are what the world is made of—we use renewable and repurposed raw materials to protect and extend the life of global infrastructure, for a more sustainable world.
Our services support critical infrastructure industries around the world. As trusted advisors with decades of proven success, we've seen it all, done it all, and are ready for whatever comes next.
Protecting what matters while preserving the future—guided by this purpose, the Koppers sustainability strategy focuses on three key pillars of people, planet, and performance.
About Us The Stickney Plant is capable of sustainably converting various crude tars-wasteproducts of steel production and petroleum refining into materials that improve our community and modern life: pitch, refined tars, chemical oils, creosote and others. The plant and process equipment have been engineered to maximize energy conservation with waste heat being used throughout the plant for steam production and process heat.
